Training, on the Trainer

I did a massive lunge session on Monday, which put the hurt on legs already sore from the 3.5 hours of skiing on Sunday. Topped off that pain sandwich with two hours on the trainer yesterday. I tried to keep the resistance light and the revs high; it didn't help. I was in pretty bad shape by the end of the night. Nothing a cookie or two couldn't solve, however.

Some nice stretching tonight and riding with the Crazy Bastards tomorrow. I expect lots of mud and slop. Not ideal, but it means warmer weather is here, with actually decent temps in the near future.

Registration has been sent for Dirty Kanza, Ouchita and Cohutta. Race season is right around the corner.

mmm cookies. What's your pleasure on the cookie front?

Oh, man. Don't get me started.

"Everything Cookies", sort of a chocolate chip, coconut, dried fruit mix-up is tasty. After that, normal chocolate chip, maybe oatmeal raisin, maybe chocolate with chocolate chip.

I prefer the cookies that a couple of local bakeries make; Wealthy Street Bakery and Nantucket Bakery. But in a pinch, I’ll eat an Oreo.

When it comes to cookies, I don't discriminate...

Know of any longer rides going on on Saturday? I'd like to ride for a few+ hours.

Hey Joe,

Yeah, I'm planning a long, boring, slow road ride on my singlespeed. I want to get 100 miles in; I'll average 15-18 mph for the trip.

I hope to be on the road by 10am so I can get back before it get too dark. I also want to make it over to Little Mexico/Bowling...

If you want it, send me a note at jrp1 (at) tds.net
