Although you will be tempted to spend all your time riding, take a few minutes and lube the screws that hold your cleats to your pedals. Don't wait six months; do it now.
Trust me on this.
While you're at it, just go ahead and put some lube on pretty much every fastener on your bike...

that is funny. reminds me of tara on a few founders rides.
No problems on the ride, thank goodness. But when it came time to replace the cleats I needed t-9, two allen keys, a set of vice grips, two monkyes and a bowl of clam chowder.
Not pretty.
